The First National Bank Building – now known as The Majestic – was built in 1907 as one of the shining landmarks of a bustling downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming.

A few decades prior to construction Cheyenne’s population swelled with the arrival of the Union Pacific Railroad and Fort D.A. Russel, now known as F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Downtown found itself with a starring role in the culture, nightlife and political activity of the day. Unfortunately, with the Great Depression looming the First National Bank went under in 1924. The building was renamed The Majestic Building and was converted into offices, as it remains to this day.

The building also features the oldest working elevator West of the Mississippi. This 1907 Otis Elevator is still manually operated by our staff Monday-Friday 8a-5p, and is really a sight to behold.
